This week we had the first debate of the race and it came with a surprise guest – we’ve now got a Republican opponent for the general election.

New Castle County’s Third District has never been represented by a Democrat, so we couldn’t expect Republicans to stay out of this race forever.

The good news is, the data is in our favor.

But it’s not just the Council District, which holds parts of House District 12, 21, 23 and all of District 22.

Every House District within this Council District was won by the statewide Democrats on the ballot in 2024 and in 2022, including District 22, which has been represented by Mike Smith (the last Republican north of the Canal) since he was first elected in 2018.

That’s what this campaign has been about from the start – sending experienced leadership to County Council to solve the problems our residents face.

We need a leader who will show up not just for Hockessin, or Yorklyn, or Pike Creek, or North Star or Newark, but for every member of our District and County.

With less than three months to go until the Democratic Primary on September 15th, now more than ever, we need to reach as many voters as we can.

That means knocking doors, making calls, sending texts, and spreading the word about this campaign and the importance of experienced leadership representing us on County Council.

With your help, this campaign will win in September, and flip this Council seat from Red to Blue in November!
